THE GUILTY GIRLS

Lara
Guilty of... keeping to the bounds of my comfort zone, yet addicted to dipping my toes in the unknown.
Promise... I will cannonball into the pool of uncharted wonder and discomfort.

Guilty of... being too cozy in the circlulation of napping and chewing...eee...
and that leads to endless
procrastination.
Promise... I will chop-chop...chop-chop...chop chew...chew-chew...chew...zZZ. Wait, what?
ABOUT US
WE'RE GUILTY! Two women who love food as much as we are ashamed of ourselves for eating it. We are two women in our twenties who battle daily with feelings of low self-worth. We are, by all rights, fairly successful women in our studies and our profession. Yet, we contend with food guilt, body shame, career stifling self-judgement, commitment fear and on and on. Of course, we usually don’t dwell on these things, or at least not all at once. Then, one fateful day, a few months back, we realized that we didn’t want to ignore guilt, we didn’t want to shy away from being the best parts of ourselves, and didn’t want to not embrace something because we might fail. So we started this project for women. A project to put our own vulnerability out there to test the bounds of guilt, to wade into the cold waters of the unknown, and be a community for all women who fight these feelings every day.
We are standing up to our own guilt and telling it to go fuck itself. It may be crass, but it’s our mantra. Guilt for things that we can change doesn’t deserve to be treated politically correct, and honestly, we're tired of feeling guilty for loving to cuss.
Welcome to guilty-tox. You are not alone.
The Guilty Girls
(a disclaimer – we are not psychologist. We understand that we are using the word guilt broadly to also cover shame. But shame-de-tox doesn’t quite have the same ring as guilty-tox. We describe both more in posts below so it’s easier to separate and understand them.)
