I am guilty of a lot of things, but to start off, I'm going to jump into food guilt this week. Of all the multiple facets of food guilt, from cravings, to skipping meals, I want to see if I can go a week without ordering takeout, or going out to lunch. This may be the most difficult thing to start off with cause I love eating out. I love putting actual respectable clothes on, love the excuse to see friends, love saying "party of three", love deciding on a bottle of wine (because let's be honest we're gonna end up getting four glasses of wine anyways). BUT, I digress! Of course the biggest challenge with this test is that when I cook for myself, I cook crappy food to just get it over with.
So this week, I want to see if I can adapt recipes to make them just a tid bit healthier than usual. By no means am I a chef. My best homemade dish is soup, which is simple in its chopping complexity. As I start out my search for recipes, I've scanned so many of the wonderful cooking blogs out there. I am actually a little horny just scrolling through their pages. Seeing beautifully take close ups of Slow Braised Port with Ginger Salad makes me desire a kitchen that's larger than a post it note, and the ability to actually make that on a random Tuesday instead of left over pasta (yick). So here's to fucking my lazy cooking guilt this week! (Throws back shot of tequila, opens third cookbook.)
Cheers to de guilting our souls, with a side of TBD
