Should we talk triggers?
I know, I know... you want to get down to the juicy parts. You want to hear to answer to question – how do I get rid of my needless guilt? Trust me, so do we. But this is a movement. This is a project that involves more than just hearing the answer. It’s about joining forces as women and finally saying enough is enough. Isn’t that more rewarding that getting that free lip gloss sample, or reading the answer to the test from your seat mate? Well, hmm, I guess we’ll find out cause both of those things are pretty awesome.
Let’s step back. As women we suffer on a daily basis about guilt. I bet you, a tub of fried chicken, that you can come up with one thing you’re guilty about right now. No cheating, you can’t say a tub of fried chicken! We all have our triggers, and most of them, based on the countless women I’ve made cry with these questions in the last few weeks, fall under these categories.
1. Eating... and subsequently not eating. Which is basically like admitting we feel guilty about breathing.
2. Saying no, both personally and at work
3. Taking time for ourselves
4. Doing better than someone else.
5. Being comfortable. Yes, you can wear that hoodie if you want to.
Or to lay it out in a more millennial understanding...
Food
Exercise
Clothing
Maintenance
Work
Relationships
Money
The period period
So, let me get this straight... our triggers are basically our lives and everything that we deal with on a daily basis.
Enough of that nonsense,
